Wicked Wizard Wednesday!

If you dont know by now, Glinda's "bubble" dress has a harness that's built into it so that she's able to be clipped into her bubble. But that's the fact for the day =).

Next time you watch Wicked watch for the Ozian that creeps up behind her bubble that hooks and unhooks her into the bubble.

I didnt notice this when I watched the show, but when I found this fact out me and my sister would carefully watch which Ozian it would be each time. They're pretty slick about it too lol.

*** Sorry there wasnt a Wicked Wizard Wednesday post last Wednesday, I was suppose to go see Wicked for the 3rd time but I woke up with an ulcer. So I spent most of the day sleeping. I'm all better now though! =)

Music Monday!

So if you care to find me
Look to the western sky
As someone told me lately
Everyone deserves a chance to fly!
And if I'm flying solo
At least I'm flying free
To those who try to ground me
Take a message back from me

Tell them how I
Am defying gravity!
I'm flying high
Defying gravity!
And soon I'm match them in renown
And nobody in all of Oz
No wizard that there is or was
Is ever gonna bring me down!

In my own opinion, I think Defying Gravity is one of the best scenes in the entire Wicked show. With that said, I think this part of Defying Gravity (where she's lifted into the air and the lights are all over her) is one of thee. best. performances. I've. EVER. seen! This part always gives me chills and its just so inspiring. Even when I'm listening to this song in the car and I can see the scene as the song is playing, its amazing. Truly amazing.

Music Monday!

Okay, I admit. I almost forgot about Music Monday (how horrible, didnt I just start this blog?) but with good reason! I didnt know today was Monday! I'm honest!

Kiss me too fiercely
Hold me too tight
I need help believing
You're with me tonight

My wildest dreaming
Could not foresee
Lying beside you, with you wanting me

And just for this moment
As long as you're mine
I've lost all resistance, and crossed over the line
And if it turns out, its over too fast
I'll make every last moment last
As long as you're mine

I re-discovered my love for "As Long As You're Mine". This was my second favorite Wicked song when I first saw Wicked.

I absolutely adore this song, its so passionate and wicked. I love the scene in the musical and how they just seem like they cant get enough of each other. There's something dark and sexy about it (might be because they're suppose to be in the woods in the middle of who-knows-where). I love how this fits into the Elphaba/Fiyero story line and ties in well with the end of the musical =]

Behind the Scenes: Dee Roscioli dressing room.

I love her Elphaba toys! How adorable! And the Glinda facing down haha. Also the shower door with the green hands.

Someone should make a cribs but for dressing rooms. I always find them interesting!

Glee: Defying Gravity.

In case you missed it, Glee had a diva off between Rachel and Kurt and they both auditioned for the solo for Defying Gravity.

If you missed the episode, the audio can be found here for their diva off.

I was impressed with both of their performances! I loved how Rachel nailed the song. I love the last note in Defying Gravity and I loved her take on it! And I was impressed with Kurt's vocal's! I wonder, if Kurt didnt throw the note... would he had won the solo over Rachel?

I love how Glee has all these Wicked influences in it, its amazing.

And can I just say that the episode as a whole was amazing? The story between Kurt and his dad was so touching. Quinn needs to stop bossing Fin around and fess up on who's kid it really is. So many heartbroken faces from Puck, aww. And seriously, Rachel and Fin need to just get together already!

Okay okay, I'll stop. This isnt a Glee blog haha. But I just had to get that out!

Wicked Wizard Wednesday!

Wicked Wizard Wednesday is when I post a fun trivia fact about either Wicked or The Wizard of Oz!

In the original Wizard of Oz, The Tin Man's real name wasnt Boq. In fact, The Tin Man was originally called "Tin Woodsman". His name was Nick Chopper and he made a living chopping down tree's. The Wicked Witch of the East enchanted his axe to prevent him from marrying the girl he loved. Since people dont die in OZ, as he lost each limb one-by-one he replaced it with tin. Until there was nothing left of him, just tin. A tinsmith helped him do this and had forgotten to replace his heart. So since he lost his heart, he was unable to love the girl he loved.

To read more about him, click here. Just a fun fact I came across while I was searching for Wicked =].

Music Monday!

So every Monday I'll try to do Music Monday which is basically when I (or you) pick a song or lyric to be the song or lyric of that day! Since this is my first Music Monday, I'll start it off with For Good (to match the banner).

I'm limited.
Just look at me - I'm limited.
And just look at you.
You could do all I couldnt do, Glinda.
So now it's up to you...
For both of us - now it's up to you...

I picked this part of the song because it kinda ties in with my personal life right now, my boyfriend leaving for the Air Force. And I always felt he was more like Glinda, things come easy for him; friends, success, effort. Where as for me, I feel more like Elphaba. I try and every attempt is never really good enough. At least through my eyes.

For Good is always such a sad song but I think it makes a great finale song.

Dee Roscioli longest running Elphaba to Broadway!

Congratulations to Dee Roscioli for hitting 103 weeks (August 09') and for making her way to Broadway!

Dee played the role of Elphaba for the Chicago production (spot the green hands!) and has made her way to playing Elphaba for Broadway.

Congratulations Dee!

I havent had the pleasure of seeing her perform (besides on YouTube) but I do plan on seeing Wicked on Broadway next year!

Behind The Emerald Curtain comes to SF!

I first found out about Behind The Emerald Curtain from someone's Flickr who attended the one in NY. SHN sent me an email a few weeks after notifying me that Behind The Emerald Curtain was coming to SF!

Behind The Emerald Curtain
is held at the The Orpheum Theatre on Saturday's at 10AM. Hosted by Nicolas Dromard (Fiyero) and Jonathan Ritter (swinger & Boq understudy). Both are very friendly and silly.

If you're interested in buying tickets, you can purchase them here.
